Privacy policy

This policy explains what data the HeyCents app and this website collect, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have over it.

Your data is controlled by [company name pending], tax ID (NIT) [tax ID pending], based in [city pending], Colombia. You can reach us at dev@getsynova.com.

• Account data: the basic details of the account you sign in with, such as your name and email address.
• Financial data you enter: transactions, amounts, categories, dates, wallets, debts, savings goals and your portfolio information.
• What you type or say to the assistant, so it can log transactions and answer your questions.
• Technical information needed to keep your devices in sync.

We don’t ask for your card or bank account details. Subscription payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your payment details.

• To provide the service: storing and showing your transactions, wallets and goals.
• To sync your data across your devices and with the people you share a wallet with.
• To run the AI assistant: categorizing your transactions and answering your questions.
• To manage your HeyCents Pro subscription.
• To handle support requests and meet our legal obligations.

We don’t use your data to show you ads, and we don’t sell it.

• Firebase and Google Cloud (Google): signing in to your account, with Google or Apple, and storing all your data in the HeyCents cloud, encrypted at rest. It’s the same cloud that keeps your devices and shared wallets in sync.
• Gemini (Google): the AI model behind the assistant. To categorize your transactions and answer you, the assistant needs to read what you send it and the related transactions.
• App Store (Apple) and Google Play (Google): process subscription payments.

These providers may store data on servers outside Colombia. We only work with providers that offer adequate security safeguards.

The app’s local database is encrypted on your device with SQLCipher, and communication with our providers is encrypted in transit.

All your data is stored in the HeyCents cloud (Firebase / Google Cloud), encrypted at rest. That encryption isn’t end-to-end: the service can read your data to sync it across your devices and with the people you share a wallet with, and the AI assistant needs to read your transactions to work. No system is foolproof, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your data is kept in the HeyCents cloud for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, we delete your wallets and your data from the cloud, except for information the law requires us to keep.

If you’re part of a shared wallet, the transactions you added stay in that wallet, without your name or email. We explain this in “Delete your account and data”.

You can access, update, correct and request deletion of your data, and withdraw the consent you gave us. You can delete your account and data right from the app, or email us at dev@getsynova.com.

HeyCents is not intended for minors. If you believe a minor has given us data without their guardian’s consent, contact us and we’ll delete it.

This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics tools or forms. Our hosting provider may log technical data, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the service.

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with its updated date and, if the change is significant, let you know in the app.
